Soak Up The Moment: 5 Minutes For Your Future Self

Take mental snapshots of the good moments today. It is easy to get caught up in the negative associations of relational wounds, unmet needs, and expectations, rushing around town, etc. You will automatically take mental snapshots of the negative parts because our brain is trained to help us avoid problems. This is part of the reason why we can easily remember the pain and remembering good moments can be a little more difficult.

Go against the grain and soak up the moments that you want to remember. Be intentional with someone. Be intentional with yourself. By soaking up the good (and not just the bad) you are setting your future self up for success because you will have good memories to fall back on instead of negative ones.

Merry Christmas!
