Hi, my name is Chelsey.
After nearly a decade in education, including five rewarding years as a middle school counselor, I made the leap from school halls to therapy calls. With a Master of Arts in School Counseling from University of Texas at Tyler and a love for all things relational, I discovered that supporting therapists (and the people they serve) is the perfect way to stay connected to the heart of counseling—even if I’m not the one in the therapy chair.
When my husband and I welcomed our first child in 2022, I wanted to stay involved with but from a distance. I work hard to get people connected to their therapist with a strong cup of coffee—and I’ve never looked back.
Now, I get to use my skills as your Admin Guru—making sure scheduling is easy, communication is clear, and no detail gets lost in the shuffle.
Let’s make this journey feel a little less clinical and a lot more human. I’m here to help every step of the way.

The short answer is no.
If you do see Grayson on your insurance website, it may be because he was contracted with Rula Mental Health and still holds a small number of insurance-based clients through Rula. If you need to use insurance, Grayson recommends calling your insurance provider directly to find a pre-approved provider in your area. As of September 1, 2024 Grayson’s insurance Client list is full.
The longer answer is that some Insurance companies consider Grayson an Out of Network Provider (OPN) which has influence on how and if your insurance could pay for or reimburse for your counseling sessions with him.
Grayson cannot guarantee that your sessions will be covered in part/full by your insurance. Grayson will provide Superbills for your sessions (you can generate them Monthly in your Secure Client Portal) and it will be up to you and your insurance to your discuss coverage.
It would be helpful for you to contact your mental health insurance coverage (sometimes it is different than your medical insurance coverage) and ask them about my credentials (below) and service codes that I use for counseling sessions (also below).
Grayson Wallen is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#23790) in Arizona and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (#12135) in California.
Grayson's National Provider Number (NPI) is: 19-62007369
For counseling sessions, Grayson uses the following codes:
Individual Counseling for 45 minutes: 90834
Couples/Relationship Counseling for 90 minutes: 90847 + 99355
ATTENTION COUPLES: It’s important to consider that most health insurance companies do not reimburse for relationship problems or general self improvement and require a mental health diagnosis to justify the medical necessity and your treatment (thus reimbursement for your counseling). So if you hope to get your treatment paid for or reimbursed for, you will often need to be given a mental health diagnosis. I do not assign a diagnosis where there is not one so that you can get treatment paid for or reimbursed.
For those not using insurance, please check out the details I have posted on the Good Faith Estimate and rates for my counseling services.

Great questions to ask your insurance provider if you are hoping to use your coverage for counseling costs:
Does my plan cover counseling services provided by an out-of-network mental health providers?
Who qualifies as an out-of-network mental health provider?
Grayson is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor #12135. Can I use my insurance to reimburse for his session fees?
What is the deductible I have to meet before coverage to an out-of-network provider benefits start?
How much will my plan reimburse me after my deductible has been met?
How many counseling sessions does my plan cover in a year? How many sessions do I have left?
How do I submit the receipt (or Superbill) that I have for my sessions in order to receive reimbursement?
What is the timeline for my claim? How fast/soon after sessions do I need to submit to make sure I get reimbursed?
