Hi, my name is Destiny.
Hi there, I’m Destiny, a therapist based in Encinitas, CA, working with individuals and couples both in office and online.
I can help you navigate life transitions, feeling stuck in patterns that kill self-esteem, identity, and emotional well-being. Therapy with me will help you understand yourself on a core level.
I also work with couples who are preparing for marriage, working through ongoing conflict, or wanting to rebuild trust and feel more connected. I use the Gottman Method to help strengthen communication, reduce conflict, and deepen connection.
My approach is collaborative, supportive, and (when appropriate) humorous. I draw from the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with a strong mind–body focus, to help clients gain insight, build practical tools, and feel more grounded and confident everyday.

Couples Therapy Cost
I practice the Gottman Method to help couples work through conflicts and come out the other side feeling like friends again. Sessions are 90 minutes because we need that amount of time to have complete conversations in session.
Relationship Counseling
First couples session - $520 (covers all assessment fees)
90-minute couples session – $420
Relationship Assessment ONLY
A comprehensive relationship assessment that includes interviews, structured questionnaires, results, and feedback – $1,500
Individual Counseling
In addition to relationship work, I offer individual therapy for women seeking support through life transitions, healing from trauma, addressing disordered eating, and reconnecting with their bodies through somatic-based therapy.
45-minute session – $210
90-minute session – $420
Rates Increase Structure
Rates are set annually and increase each January 1 by $10 per 45 minutes.
Advance communication is sent at the beginning of November each year.
Financing Options for Therapy
For clients who prefer to spread out the cost of therapy or plan for intensive work, CareCredit is available as an optional financing resource. Some clients use it simply for convenience or organization. Financing is handled directly through CareCredit.

The short answer is no.
The longer answer is that some Insurance companies consider Destiny an Out of Network Provider (OPN) which has influence on how and if your insurance could pay for or reimburse for your counseling sessions with her.
Destiny cannot guarantee that your sessions will be covered in part/full by your insurance. Destiny will provide Superbills for your sessions (you can generate them Monthly in your Secure Client Portal) and it will be up to you and your insurance to your discuss coverage.
It would be helpful for you to contact your mental health insurance coverage (sometimes it is different than your medical insurance coverage) and ask them about my credentials (below) and service codes that I use for counseling sessions (also below).

ATTENTION COUPLES: It’s important to consider that most health insurance companies do not reimburse for relationship problems or general self improvement and require a mental health diagnosis to justify the medical necessity and your treatment (thus reimbursement for your counseling). So if you hope to get your treatment paid for or reimbursed for, you will often need to be given a mental health diagnosis. I do not assign a diagnosis where there is not one so that you can get treatment paid for or reimbursed.
