Online Couples & Individual Therapy in Arizona
Quick Answer: I offer online couples and individual therapy to clients located anywhere in Arizona — Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tucson, Mesa, and everywhere in between. There's no in-person office in Arizona, but the therapy itself — Gottman Method couples work or individual counseling — runs exactly the same as it does with my in-person clients.
Arizona actually has a personal connection for me — I did my graduate training in Phoenix, so this isn't unfamiliar territory. Sessions happen over video, with the same structure, the same materials, and the same level of attention you'd get sitting across from me in Encinitas.
If You Split Time Between Arizona and California
This is more common than people expect, and it's exactly why I'm licensed in both states. If your work has you bouncing between Phoenix and California — or anywhere in either state — you don't need to pause therapy or find a second therapist every time you cross state lines. As long as you're physically located in Arizona or California at the time of your session, we can meet. Your care doesn't have to be tied to one address.
What Sessions Look Like
Couples therapy uses the same Gottman Method approach whether you're in my office or on a screen — I can share assessments, exercises, and resources directly over video just as easily as I would in person. Individual sessions work the same way: same structure, same pace, same focus on understanding what's actually driving how you show up in your relationships.
Is Online Therapy Actually Effective?
Short answer: yes, when it's the format you actually want. For the full breakdown on how telehealth works and what the research says, see the Telehealth Options page →
FAQ
Do I need to live in Arizona full-time to work with you? No — you need to be physically located in Arizona (or California) at the time of your session, not a permanent resident. This is exactly what makes the arrangement work for people who travel or split time between the two states.
Can couples in different Arizona cities both join the same session? You'll need to be in the same physical location together for a couples session — it's genuinely hard to do the kind of close, attuned work Gottman-based therapy calls for when I'm managing two separate video feeds. If you're together in the same room, city doesn't matter.
Do you offer in-person sessions in Arizona? Not currently — Arizona sessions are online only. If you're ever in California, in-person sessions in Encinitas are an option too.
